Day # 28 June 18 Molinascea to Villafranca(31K)
No WiFi in the mountains hence the delay! !
In keeping with my pet peeve on the Camino here is another limerick on bikes
On Camino I nearly was hit
By a twit on a bike, yes a twit
As best I can tell
Like a bat out of hell
As he passed I nearly said ssss stop
Today was fairly uneventful until we reached Villafranca del Bierzo but more about the later!
We left Molinascea but not before we took advantage of the bacon & eggs breakfast they were serving at the restaurant next door to our "hotel". Our hotel ( El Palacio) was more of a bed & breakfast that didn't serve breakfast! The staff was less than welcoming at check-in & check out. My guess is; they "sized" you up as you come in and then give a price accordingly but they didn't bargain for my fabulous wife who recognized a couple coming into the hotel and asked how much they had paid... we got their price which was 10 € cheaper! 10 € is 10 € and much better in our pocket than theirs.
We stopped for a photo op in Ponferrada other than that we Concentrated on getting to Villafranca far a "Party"
We have come to know a great group of people who have been walking together for sometime, They are a happy, high energy group and so much fun. We walk slower than they do but we have managed to " Overnight" at the same town on several occasions and were welcomed into their fun. Chris from the US invited us to celebrate his B'day in Villafranca hence the urgency in getting to Villafranca. To cut a long story short we had a wonderful evening; the pictures tell the story AND Holland won!
