Day # 23 June 13 Leon (Rest day)
It was so nice to wake up this morning and not have to "get up". Better still not have to walk... we had a " "lie in " We went for breakfast at around 9 am & met Roxy of Roxy & Paul fame. What a breakfast... the Paradore had everything; it was more like a buffet brunch and then Roxy & Paul joined us for coffee (they'd had breakfast earlier). We chatted for nearly 2hrs, it was fabulous. I shared some of the limericks that were "censored " from the blog and promised I'd write him a "censored " one later. In the meantime here is R&P's limerick.
And then, we met Roxy, and Paul
The happiest, couple, of all
I think, you'll agree
Like Frances, & me
That with them, you'll have, a ball
We meandered around Leon without a care. We met several people we knew, enjoyed a beer on the sidewalk, bought georgus cakes and browsed some shops. We did a little sight seeing. We will meet the crowd for dinner to night so there will be more & photos of course.
Just got back from dinner; we dined at the hotel since we need to leave early tomorrow & some people are staying an extra day or two. Pre-dinner drinks were a lot of fun; so many people arrived. We are so lucky to have met so many wonderful people... I guess this is what is meant by the Camino family.
Just before I finish I'd like to say goodbye to Russel , Kathey, Ted & Lisa who leave today. They will complete their Camino next year. A little limerick for Ted .
Ted we've heard that you speak
More languages than one, through this week
But it's "ifs" and it's "do"
An algorithm or two
In the language you speak as a geek
You both look great!!!! Sure you have enjoyed your rest time and well deserved. Look forward to following the rest of your journey. Hugs to you both
