Day # 12 June 2

Santo Domingo to Belorado (23K)

To Belorado we gently did stroll

Over mountains and hills that did roll

Met a dog on the way

Who wanted to play

Then onwards we walked to our goal

 

We left Santo Domingo early this morning. We woke around 6 ( could have been earlier some idiots alarm went off around 5 am)and were on the road at about 7:30 with only an instant coffee to get us going. This stage is one of the short stages and we wanted to complete it as early as possible. We stopped for a very nice breakfast along the way. We find that shorter more frequent stops make the trips easier. That's not to say 24 km is easy but we did ok. The weather was perfect starting but it got hotter as the day went on. We reached our Abergue at 2:30 and were enjoying a beer by 3 . Shower etc. comes first. We met a friendly dog on the way and other than that the trip was uneventful. 5€ was the cost and with dinner at 10 € & breakfast 3€ the total cost for both of us was 36 €. Pretty amazing since dinner includes a bottle of wine. We will relax and enjoy the rest of the evening and hit the sack around 9. Tomorrow promises to be a challenge.
