Day # 33 June 23 Portomarín to Palas de Rei (25K)
We've reached a stage for reflection
Perhaps a course redirection
What ever you do
It lies within you
The Camino might change your perception
This was the day we all fear. It started so well. We left Portomarín early having had breakfast & reserved a room in Palace de Rei. The early part of the walk was a stiff climb for about15K. Just before the summit we stopped for grub and I ordered the perfect bocodillo; York ham, cheese and tomato, I really love that crusty bread unfortunately it is VERY hard and I managed to break a tooth. (crown) Well Frances went into action & within 5 minutes I was in a taxi heading to a dentist. The tooth was fixed within an hour we had time to enjoy Palace de Rei. I was a little tired after my ordeal but ready to complete the last 65K. I'm so amazed how small this world is. We actually met the wife of the guy we met on day 1 tonight. Christy's wife Chris was at dinner and we met - how strange is that? It amazes me how things happen. Needless to say we had another great night
I'm so glad you were able to get your tooth fixed right away. So many unexpected adventures on the Camino! Your last pic made me miss my old Yorkie.
