Day # 7 May 28 - Lorca to Villamayor

Day # 7 28/5 / 2014

Lorca to Villamayor

Now folks I don't like to whine

So today was almost divine

At a local Bodegas

Which we did not pass

Cause the tap outside gave free wine

Today the rain is back and while that might seem bad, walking in the rain (Butch Moore 1965) is not so bad. At least we stay fairly cool. (note to JOD... I found out I do sweat - a lot!). we left this morning, heading for Villamayor.

Villamayor is a municipality located in the province of Salamanca, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2008 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 5,808 inhabitants.

The trip was uneventful but not without several climbs which did slow us down considerably. I was still feeling a little under the weather but we managed 18K

We had coffee at Estelle which is quite a large town relative to many we passed. I'd have to say the highlight of the day was Bodegas Irache which had two taps; one serving water and the other serving wine for pilgrims... foc! (See picture below.)  We arrived in VM feeling  pretty good and are looking forward to a nice meal later. Fran & I were not too tired after today's walk

Maybe we'll get the hang of this yet.

The meal was great. .. I'm still suffering from Montasuma revenge. Hopefully tomorrow will finish that.

Filing water bottle. .. didn't know the next one would be serving wine.

Gives new meaning to "the hole in the wall"
a wine tap for pilgrims

We just crossed that mountain
